TRANSPORTES CATALAN was founded in 1921 providing services nationwide in Spain. We later expanded our coverage from national to international, opening up new, strategically located offices and centers in order to optimize our services to our clients making for an efficient means of shipping.
We opened up our first office in Oronoz Mugaire and then opened up other branches in Bayonne, Irun, Barcelona, Tours, Clermont Ferrand, and Burgos.

1921 FOUNDATION OF THE COMPANY
TRANSPORTES CATALAN went into business in 1921 in the Spanish town of Oronoz Mugaire, a small town located in the Baztan valley in Northern Navarra at the base of the Pyrenees Mountains, close to the French border.
It was in this small town that the founders of the company saw the need for a good shipping company as a key to the production and distribution of products.

1958 WORKING NATIONALLY
TRANSPORTES CATALAN expanded to serving customers nationwide in 1958.
We began to cover a larger shipping area and grew as a company. This gave us more resources and shipping elements that guaranteed deliveries over longer distances which met the demands of companies that were rapidly growing in Spain.

1968 WORKING INTERNATIONALLY
TRANSPORTES CATALAN began shipping internationally in 1968 from its strategic location near the Spanish—French border. This enabled us to provide shipping services to countries all over Europe.

1987 CATALAN FRANCE
TRANSPORTES CATALAN expanded its services beyond the borders of Spain in 1987 and created CATALAN FRANCE, opening up new facilities at the European Shipping Center of Mouguerre (CEF) in Bayonne.
These facilities were used as a platform to reinforce our international shipping services that we began providing years before, creating a support for a growing number of French clients.

1992 NEW HEADQUARTERS IN ZAISA (IRUN)
In 1992, TRANSPORTES CATALAN moved its headquarters to its new facilities located in ZAISA at the Shipping Center of Irun located next to the Spanish-French border.
This complex is located just off highways A-8 and A-68 and is 200,000 square meters.

1998 CATALAN BARCELONA
TRANSPORTES CATALAN expanded its services with a new location in the town of CIM DEL VALLES in the province of Barcelona. This is a key location in the Mediterranean shipping axis.

2001 STAR OF QUALITY
TRANSPORTES CATALAN was awarded the prestigious International Star Award of Geneva in 2001 in recognition of its commitment to quality, leadership, technology, and innovation.
This prize is awarded by the Business Initiative Directions which is located in 162 countries worldwide providing the foundations of a comprehensive quality process through its CC100 Total Quality Management technology.

2004 CATALAN TODAY
TRANSPORTES CATALAN is a company with the clear objective of customer satisfaction. We are accredited by different quality standards that guarantee our customers the highest quality service.
We are currently in the process of getting the ISO 14.001 environmental certification in order to have a higher level of correspondence and balance with the environment we work in.
